A gut wrenching decision affecting thousands of members had to be made by the leaders of an iconic family fitness organization, the YMCA.
At noon today (Sunday) the YMCA of Central East Ontario announced that its facilities in Belleville, Quinte West, and Peterborough and its Child Care Centres in Belleville and Peterborough will be closed effective at 5:30 today until at least Monday, April 6.
March Break camps will also be cancelled.
The move is being seen as the right thing to do to stem the spread of the coronavirus, even though the risk of being infected in this region is still considered low.
