Belleville Police chased down a shoplifter Friday night outside the No Frills on Bell Boulevard in Belleville.
Police were called to a report of a shoplifter around 7 p.m.
While trying to make an arrest, police say the man resisted and made a run for it. A No Frills loss prevention officer assisted police with the pursuit and arrest of a 31-year-old Belleville man.
He was arrested on two outstanding warrants and in addition has been charged with theft under $5,000, assault and breach of probation.
