A Belleville police officer known for his dedication to fishing and the community has been nominated for the Police Association of Ontario Hero of the Year Awards.
Constable Patrick Comeau was nominated Wednesday by a resident.
Comeau is best known as being the guiding light behind the Cops and Kids fishing derbies which are held in the summer and in winter.
In nomination remarks the resident mentions the hard work Constable Comeau has done over 10 years on the derbies and the joy they have brought to many children and families.
Nominations close tomorrow (March 13).
