A young man faces an assault charge after an incident last night (Monday) in the area of Front and Victoria streets in Belleville.
City police officers responded and witnesses told them a suspect had run away from the scene heading east.
Police arrested a man nearby on Patterson Street shortly after 9 o’clock.
Twenty-one-year old Derek Hokkanen was charged. Another man was treated and released from hospital with minor inuries.
