UPDATE @ 4:25 p.m.:
Central Hastings OPP now say one person has died after a head on crash between a car and a pick up truck this (Monday) morning.
It happened on Highway 7, just west of Highway 37 in Tweed, around 10:30 a.m.
Investigators say both cars only had the drivers inside and that the driver of the car died in hospital, after being airlifted there by Ornge Air Ambulance.
Police say the driver of the pick up was also injured and taken to hospital by Hastings-Quinte Paramedics, but the extent of those injuries was not released.
Highway 7 remains closed between Highway 37 in Tweed and St. Lawrence Street in Madoc, as investigators continue to look into the crash.
No names have been released and anyone who might have more information on what happened is asked to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

A section of Highway 7 is closed in Tweed because of a serious crash late Monday morning.
Reports of a crash near Genereux Road and Highway 37 came in around 10:35 a.m. and an OPP tweet now says the road closure is in place with emergency crews on the scene.
OPP say the head-on crash has resulted in one driver suffering life-threatening injuries and the other driver being seriously injured.
Highway 7 is closed between Highway 37 and St. Lawrence Street until further notice.
Drivers are being asked to take an alternate route.
