The Quinte Foley Bus Lines Red Devils move on to the OHL Cup as OMHA “AAA” Minor Midget Champions.
Quinte knocked off Oshawa 5-1 in the final of the championship tournament hosted in Belleville this weekend. The Red Devils were 5-0 in the championship.
Sunday’s final game was played in front of about 1500 fans at CAA Arena.
Defenceman Donovan McCoy, who was named Quinte’s Player of the Game enjoyed the support.
Red Devils coach Chris Hunt was not surprised at his teams’s success.
The OHL Cup is in Toronto March 17th to the 23rd and includes the top 20 teams in Ontario and the U.S. Quinte is ranked second in the Province and coach Chris Hunt expects they will do well.
This is the third OMHA championship for this group. They won the Bantam title last year and the Atom Championship in 2015.
