CFB Trenton will soon be home to another group of Canadians for two weeks in a quarantine situation.
Yesterday, Global Affairs Canada announced it had secured a plane and would soon be airlifting Canadians stranded aboard the Grand Princess cruise ship off California back to Canada and to CFB Trenton for a 14-day quarantine period.
The cruise ship has over 3,500 passengers and crew on board and 19 crew members and two passengers have tested positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus.
There are 237 Canadians on the ship. All of them will first be screened for symptoms before boarding the plane. Those that show symptoms will not be allowed on the plane.
