The Belleville Police responded to 86 calls for service between March 4, 2020 at 5 a.m. and March 6, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Stolen Licence Plates.
On March 4, 2020 at 2 p.m., officers observed a vehicle on Willard St. A check of the licence plate indicated that it was stolen. The vehicle was stopped and the male was arrested. A further search revealed a quantity of narcotics. A 29-year-old Belleville man was charged with possession of stolen property, possession for the purpose of trafficking in a narcotic, and breaching a recognizance. He was held for a bail hearing on March 5, 2020.
Theft
On March 4, 2020 at 5:45 p.m., officers attended 211 Bell Blvd, No Frills, in regards to a shoplifter. Upon arrival they spoke to store security who advised a female was in custody for stealing merchandise. As a result, Hannah Crawford-Yohn, a 22-year-old Belleville woman was charged with theft under $5000. She was released on an appearance notice, with a court date of March 26, 2020.
Breach of Undertaking
On 04 March 2019 at 6 pm officers attended an address on Moira St W in regards to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival officers did a record check on the two parties involved. The check indicated that the 37 yr old Belleville man was on an undertaking not the be with the female. He was arrested for breaching his undertaking and held for a bail hearing on 05 March 2020. There were no allegations of assault and no injuries.
Warrants
On March 5, 2020 at 12:30 a.m., police stopped a vehicle at the corner of Dundas St E and Church St. When the vehicle stopped, the driver who was suspected of having a warrant, attempted to run away. The male was caught a short distance away and arrested. A records check confirmed that Shea Walsh a 32-year-old with no fixed address had a warrant for failing to appear for court. He was held for a bail hearing on March 5, 2020.
