Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation District 29 President Scott Marshall still has questions following the Education Minister’s announcement on Tuesday.
He says this is the third time the Minister has held a media conference to introduce new proposals and this time OSSTF was at the bargaining table.
Marshall says the move to 23 students in an average sized class is not a concession and will still result in a thousand fewer teachers.
He says the move to allow students to opt out on mandatory e-learning is an improvement on the surface, but there are still questions around how that will work.
Marshall says the Minister needs to stop using education as a political football and engage in meaningful negotiations.
