A 52-year-old Picton man, who was originally charged with aggravated assault and disobeying a court order after a woman was assaulted and taken to a Kingston hospital with life-threatening injuries on February 8, is now facing an attempted murder charge.
The man, whose name will not be released to protect the identity of the victim, now faces the following charges as well: breach of recognizance, using violence to prevent a person from receiving medical care, forcible confinement, failing to provide necessaries of life, four counts of administering a noxious substance with intent to endanger life or cause bodily harm, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, assault with a weapon, two counts of assault, and using a firearm while committing an offence.
The accused appears in court Thursday in Belleville.
