Belleville planning staff will present recommendations soon on a plan to build a 6,000 square metre marijuana production facility in part of a large existing warehouse at 665 Dundas Street East.
One resident, living near the rear of the warehouse, has concerns about health effects, odors, and property devaluation because of the grow-op.
It’s estimated it would cost almost $2 million to renovate the space for a grow-op. A consultant’s report suggests that when at full capacity it could employ up to 40 workers per shift.
A detailed staff report will be coming, and recommendations made, regarding a proposal for a retail/manufacturing business, Quinte Boat Docks, which would sell products for recreational vehicles and sell, manufacture, and assemble boat docks in Belleville.
The businesses would be located on the 10 Acre Truck Stop property at 902 Wallbridge-Loyalist Road.
