Despite the lack of a major ski facility in the area, 13 local students qualified for the Ontario High School championships at Osler Bluff Ski Club in Collingwood.
The boys’ team from Nicholson Catholic College which includes Joe Bardwell, Simon Liippitt, Jack and Tom Vandervoort and David Stinchbombe finished 7th in the Level 1 Giant Slalom.

The girls’ team from Nicholson includes Hannah and Chloe O’Boyle Kelly, Annissa Bray, and Holly and Reena Liu. They finished 5th in Level 2 Grand Slalom and 7th in the Slalom.
Also competing were Leyton Arch and Molly Henderson from Eastside Secondary and Padraigh Brady from Centennial.
