There was a serious accident early Sunday morning in the area of Yeomans Street and Moira Street West.
Police responded to the accident involving a car and a truck at 1:45 a.m.
One person was seen unconscious in the truck, while the driver of the car fled the scene on foot.
Both vehicles were severely damaged, and towed from the location.
The person in the truck was treated by Emergency Medical Services and taken to Belleville General Hospital with minor injuries, while the investigation into the other driver who left the scene remains ongoing.
Police are asking anyone who may have information as to the identity of the fleeing driver, or who may have witnessed this, to contact investigating officer Cst.
