The Lower Trent Conservation Authority has released a water safety statement ahead of the snow accumulation expected in the Quinte region.
The conservation authority is warning that strong winds up to 100 km/h tomorrow (Thursday) could result in surge-related flooding along the north shore of Lake Ontario.
They say erosion damage from high waves and nuisance localized shoreline flooding may occur.
Residents are told they should pay close attention to weather forecasts for approaching storm systems with high southeast, south or southwest winds.
