Demonstrations continue on Tuesday, February 25 at both Wyman Road and Highway 49 in Tyendinaga Towship and Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
At Wyman Road, OPP have placed concrete barricades south of the CN tracks, and south of Old Highway 2, closing the road between Highway 2 and the rail line.
Demonstrators have moved a camp that was on CN property to about 100 metres further south. There are skids and flags making an entrance to the encampment. Ordinary fires, tire fires, flags flying over head, food and drink, and music are all visible, along with OPP.
At Highway 49, an encampment is set up just to the south of the CN tracks, on the end of Depot Road, which becomes a dead end at the tracks. That is Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. On the north of the tracks, also at a dead end, is McCauley Road, just off Old Highway 2 near Highway 49. That is Tyendinaga Township.
Overnight, a fire was set on the tracks, after a protester burned several tires.
One train was able to make it through the area Monday night, but things have been quiet since.
Meantime in Belleville on Tuesday afternoon, a demonstration was set up at Eastside Secondary School. Many teens from Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory attend the school, however, both First Nations students and allies from the camp set up at the corner of Farley and Victoria avenues.
