The Hastings Prince Edward District School Board approved a number of fire alarm system renewals at their board meeting on Monday night.
The fire alarm system, including emergency lighting, updates totaled $1.95 million.
Schools slated for the renewals include Foxboro Public, Frankford Public, North Hastings High School, Park Dale, Trenton High School, V.P. Carswell Elementary, Bayside Secondary, Harry J. Clarke Public and Prince Charles in Belleville.
Ferguson Electric Company Ltd. and McClement Electric Ltd. were the two winning bidders for the tender.
2020-21 School Year
The Board of Trustees has set next year’s school calendar.
There are 194 minimum instructional days, seven maximum professional activity days, ten exam days and two possible board designated holidays.
The first day of school for students in Hastings and Prince Edward will be Tuesday, September 1, 2020.
March Break will span March 15-19, 2021 and the last day of school will be Thursday, June 24, 2021.
The calendar will be submitted to the Ministry of Education for final approval.
