A message has been given by the Ontario Provincial Police.
Demonstrators that are sitting adjacent to the CN tracks in Tyendinaga Township, and Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, have been notified that if they leave by 11:59 p.m. Sunday evening, no charges will be laid against them.
CN’s message (given by the OPP) is that they will ask the OPP not to investigate any criminal charges against those who have set up camp on CN property along Wyman Road, and near Highway 49. It was February 6 when they first set up a demonstration on Wyman Road.
Structures, vehicles, equipment and people would have to be clear from the site by 11:59 p.m. Sunday for that offer to stand, according to a member of the OPP.
Quinte News is on Wyman Road in Tyendinaga Township and will update the situation as details emerge.
