Prince Edward County OPP have been investigating several cases of fraud over the past few days.
One person was scammed out of a lot of money after someone called and said that a close family member had been involved
in a collision and had been charged with impaired driving.
The victim was asked to post $6,000 bail or the family member would be in jail for a while.
Another person was called by someone claiming to represent a software company. While the victim’s computer was accessed by the
fraudster the victim thought again and quickly called a bank to cancel any transactions.
