It isn’t official but the budget for the Municipality of Brighton is ready for a final vote.
The 2020 financial plan was presented to the public at last night’s (Tuesday) meeting of Brighton council
The year over year local tax increase is 3.3% which will translate into an extra $164 a year on a house worth $400,000. That works out to about $14 a month.
The budget also includes room for some new staff in Brighton. Public works would get another 1.5 positions while other positions will be filled in the planning departments and in administration.
A new firetruck will also be purchased.
Council will vote to pass its budget at its March 2 meeting.
