The Belleville Police Service responded to 80 calls for service between February 14, 2020 at 5 a.m. and February 15, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
On February 14, 2020 at 8:32 a.m., police attended on Victoria Avenue at John Street in relation to a two-car collision. The airbags had been deployed in both vehicles. EMS treated two people at the scene for minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The investigation is continuing.
On February 14, 2020, at 2:18 p.m., police attended on Bell Blvd. at Hanna Court regarding a two-car collision. One of the vehicles had failed to remain at the scene. The vehicle was located later by the OPP in Quinte West. This investigation is continuing.
On February 14, 2020 at 3:05 p.m., police attended on Bridge Street East at Bleecker Avenue. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. One motorist was charged with failing to stop at a stop sign. There were no reported injuries.
On February 14, 2020 at 10:30 p.m., police attended on Dundas Street West at Wallbridge-Loyalist Road regarding a two-car collision. There were no injuries. The investigation is continuing.
Shoplifter
On February 14, 2020 at 1:03 p.m., police attended at Canadian Tire at 101 Bell Blvd. regarding a shoplifter who had been arrested by store security. Twenty-eight-year-old Jordan Holmes of Belleville was charged with theft under $5000. He was released with a court date of March 12, 2020.
Arrested on warrants
On February 14, 2020 at 10:26 a.m., a 25-year-old Belleville woman was arrested on Victoria Avenue on warrants held by the Kingston Police Service. She was released with a court date in March.
On February 14, 2020 at 11:35 p.m., police attended at an east end home regarding a disturbance. The investigation revealed that one of the occupants, a 21-year-old Belleville woman, had warrants for her arrest held by the Belleville Police Service. She was escorted to BGH for treatment of self-inflicted injuries. She was released with a court date of March 12, 2020.
Public intoxication
On February 15, 2020 at 1:25 a.m., police received multiple 911 calls from a caller on Front Street. The 33-year-old Belleville man was located on Pinnacle Street at Station Steet. There was no emergency as the male was intoxicated. He was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
Bail Violations
On February 15, 2020 at 3:48 a.m., an officer on patrol recognized a male on Haig Road who was supposed to be residing with his surety. A 25-year-old Belleville man was arrested and held for a bail hearing on February 15, 2020.
On February 15, 2020 at 4:10 a.m., police attended on Albion Street regarding a disturbance. A 40-year-old Belleville woman was arrested to prevent a further breach of the peace. There were no injuries.
