There will be lots of discussion on flooding at a meeting of Brighton council this Tuesday night.
Dave Dingle, the chair of the Historic Murray Canal District Advocacy Group will propose council research the costs associated with hiring a flood protection expert to help property owners guard against high water this spring.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Brighton Brian Ostrander will make two motions on the flooding issue.
One will concern learning what legal avenues could be available to council because of flood damage and the other will ask for a cost estimate for the hiring of a professional flood mitigation/response team to help staff and residents deal with flooding.
Brighton council meets Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers.
