Most of Ontario’s teachers plan to ratchet up the pressure on the provincial government to reach a deal in stalled contract talks.
Yesterday (Wednesday) it was announced that all four major teachers’ unions will get together and have their members stage a one day walkout on Friday February 21 if contracts aren’t settled by then.
Those unions are the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario, the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation, the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association, and one representing teachers in the province’s French system.
Meanwhile tomorrow (Friday), elementary school teachers working with the Kawartha Pine Ridge school board will hold a one day walkout.
