Belleville Police Service responded to 76 calls for service from February 12, 2020 at 5 a.m. to February 13, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Warrant arrest
On February 12, 2020 at 6:30 a.m., Belleville Police responded to the east end regarding a report of a male acting strangely outside a business. A check of the male confirmed he had an outstanding warrant from Lennox and Addington County. Forty-year-old Isaac Richmond of no fixed address was turned over to the OPP.
Motor vehicle collisions
On February 12, 2020 at 8 a.m., Belleville Police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Pine and Albion streets. There were no injuries and as a result of the investigation one of the drivers was charged with making an unsafe turn.
On February 12, 2020 at 2 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a three-vehicle collision near the intersection of North Front and College streets. No one was injured and as a result of the investigation one of the drivers was charged with following too close.
On February 12, 2020 at 3 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a vehicle collision near the intersection of North Front Street and Bell Blvd. No injuries were reported and as a result of the investigation one of the drivers was charged with failing to yield from a private driveway.
Youths arrested
On February 12, 2020 at 5:30 p.m., Belleville Police were called to a north end business regarding a shoplifting incident. Four young males were observed stealing items from the business but had left prior to police arrival. Belleville Police were notified a few hours later that the four youths had been arrested by the Quinte West OPP for further thefts from their area. As a result of the investigation a 17-year-old, a 15-year-old and two 14-year-olds from Toronto were charged with theft and possession of stolen property. They were released with a court date of March 10, 2020.
