Dukes eye first place – Devils drop to third

The Wellington Dukes can move into first place in the OJHL’s East Division tonight (Wed) when they host the Toronto Patriots in a re-scheduled game at Lehigh Arena.

The Dukes are one point behind first place Trenton and have two games in hand with tonight being one of them.

The Patriots are in second place in the South Division but with no chance of moving up.

Take note of the game time. The puck drops at 8.

Red Devils slip in Provincial standings

For the first time in two months, the Quinte Foley Bus Lines Red Devil are not the top ranked “AAA” Minor Midget Hockey team in Ontario.

Quinte slipped two spots to number 3 in the latest minor midget rankings for the OHL Cup Showcase Tournament next month.

The Red Devils had held the top spot for 9 weeks. That has been taken over by the Toronto Titans of the GTHL. (Rankings below)

Quinte is currently in their Eastern “AAA” playoff series with Barrie. The 6 point series is tied 2-2. Game 3 is tonight at 7:30 at the CAA Arena.

The 11th edition of the weekly Top-10 Rankings got interesting as the Toronto Titans became the top-ranked team for the first time this season, unseating the Quinte Red Devils after nine consecutive weeks in the lead. The Titans lead the eighth-ranked Vaughan Kings 2-0 (pts.) in their first round GTHL Playoff series while the Toronto Jr. Canadiens, who climb one spot up to second, lead the Markham Majors by a similar tally. The formerly first-ranked Red Devils sunk down to number three on the list. The Toronto Marlboros are back up into sixth as they’re off to a winning start in their playoff series against the Mississauga Senators. The Hamilton Huskies rose two spots from ninth to seventh after taking a 4-0 (pts.) series lead over the 10th ranked Waterloo Wolves in their ALLIANCE semi-final clash.
