Former Quinte West Mayor John Williams says many people don’t realize how big the Joint Task Force 2 relocation would have been for the Quinte area.
Yesterday (Monday) the federal government announced that JTF2 would not be relocating from Dwyer Hill to CFB Trenton, as originally planned.
Williams says it would have been massive for the community.
Williams says once the project hit the Frank Meyers property and land expropriation stalled for some time, the Harper Conservative government lost to the Liberals , and they had a reason for not following through on what was a huge project.
