A guilty conscience led to a young man being charged with trespassing early this morning (Monday).
Belleville police reported seeing a suspicious person dressed completely in black walking in the city’s north end just after 3 o’clock this morning.
When the police cruiser came near, the person sprinted away but was caught by officers after a short foot chase.
The 22-year-old Belleville man told police he’d been contemplating breaking into a storage unit that he was locked out of because of lack of payment but had reconsidered.
He was given a ticket and released.
