Belleville Police Service responded to 58 calls for service from February 8, 2020 at 5 a.m. to February 9, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Breach of release conditions
On February 8, 2020 at 7:50 p.m., police received a call to a west end residence regarding a man who was not abiding by his house arrest conditions. At the same time, police received a call to the area of Victoria Avenue regarding an intoxicated man who was acting suspiciously. Police located the man on Ann Street and learned he was the man reported to be breaching his house arrest conditions. A 34-year-old Belleville man was arrested for breaching his recognizance. He was held for a bail hearing on February 9.
Arrested on warrants
On February 8, 2020 at 9:40 p.m., police stopped a man driving in traffic on a bicycle. Police identified the man as 29-year-old David Mantifel of Belleville. Mantifel had outstanding warrants for fraud-related charges as well as failing to attend court. Mantifel was arrested and brought to the station where he will have a bail hearing on February 9.
