Belleville Police Service responded to 65 calls for service from February 7, 2020 at 5 a.m. to February 8, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Theft, Escape Custody
On February 7, 2020 at 6:45 p.m., Belleville Police attended a north end grocery store in regards to a theft. Store security attempted to apprehend the accused who was seen leaving the store with products without paying for them. The accused pulled away from the security officer and took off from the scene. Police were able to quickly locate and arrest the accused in the vicinity. Approximately $60 of product was stolen from the grocery store and was recovered by police.
Belleville resident, 32-year-old Miranda Wolfe was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000 and Escape Lawful Custody. The accused was subsequently released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear at the Belleville Ontario Court of Justice on March 5, 2020 to answer for the charges.
Warrants
On February 7, 2020 at approximately 10:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of North Front Street and College Street regarding a man causing a disturbance. Thirty-four–year-old Michael Primeau of Belleville was arrested on a warrant for outstanding charges already before the court. The accused was held in custody on the warrant and scheduled to appear before a Justice on February 8 for a Show Cause hearing.
