A member of the Belleville Police service has been nominated for the Hero of the Year, by the Police Services Award committee.
Officer Rachel Terpstra was nominated by a woman who wanted to report a case of years of domestic abuse.
The victim stated during it all, Officer Terpstra was there for her, including at court.
The victim added that during this process she lost her brother in a car crash, and the officer had everything postponed and checked in to make sure everything was okay.
