The vision of affordable seniors housing in a former school is moving ahead.
Council in Prince Edward County made it official on Tuesday night at Shire Hall following an in camera session.
Councillors voted in favour of selling the former Pinecrest School property in Bloomfield to LoveSong.
The former school property located at 27 Corey Street was declared surplus by the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board in 2017.
LoveSong is looking to create 50 affordable housing units for seniors at the property with a community hub available to tenants and the community.
One of the project facilitators Ken How told council earlier this year he expects to be turnkey ready in 2022 and project members have managed to raise enough money to be able to reimburse the County the $375,000 paid to purchase the property.
