TECHNOLOGY UPGRADES
Brighton council has approved hiring a firm to design a system updating the technology systems being used in council’s chambers.
Mayor of Brighton Brian Ostrander says the current audio-visual equipment being used is simply too outdated and of poor quality.
The consulting firm will also end up providing a much better system to livestream council meetings in future.
Meanwhile, the same company will update security in and around Brighton’s municipal/library building soon.
Brighton council has hired a firm to design a new security system for the building on Alice Street.
Mayor Brian Ostrander says better security is important especially with the renovated library.
The company IT Navigator will charge $125 an hour for its work.
HEALTH CARE IN THE COMMUNITY
Brighton council will help support a local doctor for work involved in order to hire a Nurse Practitioner for the Family Health Team.
Mayor of Brighton Brian Ostrander says the community will soon be short three family doctors involving two medical practices and a Nurse Practitioner will be a big help for people left without a doctor.
Dr. Erin Gow will receive $20,000 from the municipality to cover the costs involved with hiring a Nurse Practitioner for one year and the contract will be come up for consideration again after that.
The Nurse Practitioner will be hired soon and will end up with a patient load of 800.
