Elementary school students in the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board will be affected by two strikes this week.
On Tuesday, there will be a one-day rotating strike affecting JK – Grade 8 students.
On Thursday, there will be a one-day provincial strike at all public elementary schools.
All students in JK – Grade 8 should not go to school those days. This includes students in Grades 7 and 8 who attend school at a secondary school.
These strikes do not affect students in Grades 9-12.
Kawartha Pine-Ridge elementary schools will be affected by the walk-outs on Wednesday and Limestone on Friday.
All Ontario Catholic schools will be closed on Tuesday as well. This includes all elementary and secondary schools within the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board.
All four major teachers’ unions have been without contracts since Aug. 31 and are all engaged in some form of job action.
