Belleville Police Service responded to 63 calls for service from January 30, 2020 at 5 a.m. to January 31, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Drugs Found
On January 30, 2020 at approximately 10 a.m., City Police were dispatched to a south west apartment complex where a bag of illicit narcotics and unknown substances were left out in the public area. The items were turned over to city police and there are no suspects identified at this time.
Youth Disturbance
On January 30, 2020 at 1 p.m.. Belleville Police were called to a south west retail store where a 12-year-old youth male was causing a disturbance in the store and refusing to leave. City police removed the boy from the store and returned him back into the custody of his parent. No charges were laid at the request of the store management.
Motor Vehicle Collision – Minor Injuries
On January 30, 2020 at approximately 2 p.m., city police received a report of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Herchimer Avenue and Bridge St. East involving minor injuries. The injured party suffered only minor injuries and did not require medical attention. A Belleville man was charged with Following Too Closely contrary to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
