The City of Belleville has handed over nearly $17,000 to a great local cause.
Thursday morning, Mayor Mitch Panciuk, along with councillor Garnet Thompson and Bill Sandison presented the money to the Food For Learning program.
Last year, the Food for Learning program provided more than 529,000 meals and snacks to local students.
The funds came from the annual Feed the Meter campaign.
In total between the Quinte West, Prince Edward County, and Belleville, more than $38,091.44 is going to the program.
