Belleville Police Service responded to 60 calls for service from January 28, 2020 at 5 a.m. to January 29, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Mischief overnight
On January 28, 2020, Belleville Police responded to two calls regarding mischief yesterday morning which occurred the previous night or during the early morning hours. Two businesses suffered exterior damage on North Front Street. Anyone with information is asked to call Belleville Police or Crimestoppers.
Domestic Disturbance
On January 28, 2020 at 11:30 a.m., Belleville Police attended a west end residence regarding a disturbance. As a result of the investigation a 34-year-old Belleville resident was charged with three counts of domestic assault. He was released with a February court date.
Motor vehicle collision
On January 28, 2020 at 2:30 p.m., Belleville Police attended a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of May Avenue and Gilbert Street. One of the vehicles was not drivable and as a result of the investigation one of the drivers was charged with making a turn not in safety.
Shoplifter with warrants
On January 28, 2020 at 9 p.m., Belleville Police were called to a west end business regarding a shoplifter. The 28-year-old Belleville resident was arrested for theft and it was determined that she had six outstanding warrants for her arrest. She is being held for a bail hearing later today.
