The provincial government definitely has the multi-million dollar redevelopment of Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital on its mind.
At a meeting of the Quinte Health Care’s Board of Directors Tuesday President and C.E.O. Mary Clare Egberts said she’d been at an event at which the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care Christine Elliott was speaking.
“She was discussing the challenges and opportunities ahead for health care in Ontario and briefly mentioned hospitals that would need redevelopment soon. She mentioned three and Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital was one of them.”
Egberts said in a perfect world all of the approvals for the project, roughly estimated to cost around $70 million, would be complete in a year’s time.
“However, there is no perfect world but we remain optimistic that the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital will be upgraded in the foreseeable future.”
