Belleville Transit’s downtown terminal is set to close for three months for some major renovations.
The Pinnacle Street terminal will be closed starting on February 6, 2020, with preparations being made for the extensive upgrade, which will include barrier free public washrooms with outside access, upgrades to the drivers’ break room and expansions to allow for the future growth of the transit system.
The vending machines are being removed and temporary washroom facilities will be set up while the construction is ongoing and the city says it “appreciates everyone’s patience during the construction period”.
Passengers will also be able to use the heated shelters on the platform to wait for their buses and will be able to buy transit tickets and passes at City Hall, Belleville Water and the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
