Council for the Municipality of Brighton will begin its 2020 budget process Monday evening.
Staff is presenting a draft budget for council’s consideration featuring an almost 8% increase in dollar terms and a 4.9% tax increase.
If passed as is, which is highly unlikely, that increase would work out to about $10 a month more in local taxes on a house worth $300,000.
The draft budget totals $9.5 million including $1.3 million in net capital spending.
