Lennox and Addington OPP officers had to be more like cowboys or cowgirls early last night (Friday). There was a collision between two tractor trailers in the Napanee area.
That in itself isn’t unusual but what is unusual is that one of the tractor trailers was carrying a load of cattle and the cows got out and wandered all over and around the highway.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes of the 401 at Napanee were shut down for a couple of hours while police and firefighters rounded them up.
Reports indicate one cow was killed in the mishap. No other injuries were reported.
Highway 401 was reopened around 9 o’clock.
