Motor Vehicle Collision – Fail to Remain – Update
On January 21, 2020 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Geddes Street involving a red Dodge pickup truck and two parked vehicles. The operator of the red Dodge pickup truck fled the scene prior to police arrival. Both parked vehicles sustained considerable damage. Police conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area for the suspect, however, were unable to locate it. The suspect vehicle would have sustained considerable damage as well.
Update – Thank you to the public’s assistance, Belleville City Police were able to locate the suspect red Dodge pickup truck that was involved in the fail to remain motor vehicle collision and identify the driver. Thirty-year-old Belleville resident, Jacob Ferrill was charged with one count of Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident and one count of Fail to Report a Motor Vehicle Collision contrary to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act. Mr. Ferrill is scheduled to attend Ontario Provincial Offences Court on February 3, 2020 to answer to the charges.
Break & Enter
On January 22, 2020 at approximately 6:30 p.m., city police were dispatched to a residence on Grove St. in regards to a Break & Enter. City Police arrested a 37-year-old Belleville resident, Amanda Hartwell for one count of Break and Enter. The accused was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to attend court on February 20, 2020 at the Belleville Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charge.
