A rental property scam appears to be becoming more commonplace in the Quinte region.
Belleville police say a young person recently got scammed out of almost $1,400 after transferring money to rent a non-existent property on the popular website Kijiji.
Police say fraudulent rental properties are being seen more and more on various websites.
People wanting to rent would be wise to physically visit the properties in question before committing any money.
