The provincial government has increased its financial support to the Belleville Police Service to provide security at the Quinte Consolidated Courthouse.
Local MPP Todd Smith announced Sunday that the province will grant the Belleville Police Service over $1.37 million to offset the costs of security at the courthouse and transporting people in custody back and forth from various institutions.
Last year’s grant was a little over $1.34 million.
