The Belleville Police Service responded to 58 calls for service from January 16, 2020 at 5:00am January 17, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Shoplifter arrested
On January 16, 2020 at 5 p.m., police were called to a Millennium Parkway business regarding a shoplifting in progress. On arrival, police were advised that a female was filling up a bag in the store while another person was waiting out front in a vehicle. The female was intercepted prior to leaving the store and she was arrested. A 31-year-old female from Belleville was charged under the Trespass to Property Act.
Suspicious person
On January 17, 2020 at 1:05 a.m., police were called to the area of Farley Avenue and Forest Hill Crescent regarding a male who had entered a vehicle parked in a driveway. Police arrived in the area quickly, however, they were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect male was described as tall and thin with a dark winter jacket, and a white shirt underneath. Belleville Police are asking anyone with information, or anyone who was the victim of a theft from their vehicle overnight, to call the Belleville Police Service.
