The Belleville Police Service responded to 75 calls for service from January 15, 2020 at 5 a.m. to January 16, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Mischief to business
On January 15, 2020 at 8:05 a.m., police attended a Dundas Street East business regarding mischief to the building. Police were advised that sometime overnight an unknown suspect had thrown an object through the front window of the business. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Belleville Police Service.
Shoplifting arrest
On January 15, 2020 at 7:40 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a shoplifting call at a Millennium Parkway business. Police were advised that a female had attempted to leave the store without paying for $140 worth of merchandise. Harpeet Kaur, 25, of Belleville was arrested and charged with one count of theft under $5000. She will appear in court on February 13.
Suspended driver charged
On January 16, 2020, at 1 a.m., police observed a vehicle travelling slowly on North Front Street, and it appeared to be avoiding police vehicles in the area. Police stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver. Police learned that the female driver had taken a friend’s vehicle while her licence was suspended. Lara Liddiard, 37, of Belleville was issued a summons for driving while under suspension. She will appear in court on February 3.
