In Ontario Junior Hockey League action Friday night, the Trenton Golden Hawks used a big debut from Sullivan Sparkes to power past the Muskies 3-1 in Lindsay.
Sparkes, who was acquired Friday morning, recorded a power-play goal and an assist.
Matt Nastasiuk and Josh Wright also scored for the Hawks.
Anand Oberoi turned aside 18 of 19 shots for the win.
The Hawks return to action on Sunday in Trenton against the Muskies. The puck will drop at 7:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Wellington Dukes were also on the road last night in St. Michaels.
Justin Paul and Brodie McDougall scored for the Dukes, but it wasn’t enough as they fell to the Buzzers 3-2 in regulation time.
Matt Keely allowed three goals on 32 shots in net for the loss.
Wellington is now three points back of the Hawks, with three games in hand. The Dukes will return to action Monday night in Cobourg.
