The Trenton Golden Hawks received a boost offensively on Friday acquiring forwards Sullivan Sparkes and Tyler Neilsen at the trade deadline.
Sparkes has 175 games of major junior hockey experience split between the Oshawa Generals and Charlottetown Islanders. In 23 games this season in the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MJHL), Sparkes posted 6 goals and 22 assists.
Neilsen is a gritty forward who adds experience and character to the Hawks for a potential playoff run. The 20-year-old forward joins the club from the New Jersey Junior Titans of the NAHL. In 13 games played, Neilsen has recorded 2 goals and 3 assists.
Neilsen will wear #20 for the Hawks, while Sparkes will wear #94.
Both players were in the lineup for Friday night’s win in Lindsay over the Muskies.
