The Wellington Dukes picked up their second win in as many nights on Saturday night with a 4-2 win over the visiting Lindsay Muskies.
The Dukes allowed the game’s opening goal but didn’t look back from there.
Ben Evans and Brodie McDougall tallied a goal and an assist for Wellington while Daniel Panetta and Justin Paul each netted singles.
Matthew Keeley made his first start of the new year turning aside 22 of 24 shots for the win.
The Dukes remain just one point back of Trenton in the East Division standings with one game in hand.
Wellington is now off until Friday when they hit the road to take on the St. Michael’s Buzzers.
Provincial Junior Hockey League
On the Junior “C” circuit, the Napanee Raiders crushed the Port Hope Panthers Saturday night, 8-1.
Austin Labelle, Evan Foley, Mackenzie Warren and Aidan McFarland each recorded a three point night, accounting for six Raider goals.
Bailey Matthews and Alex Case also scored.
Mitch Brown made 16 saves on 17 shots.
With the win, Napanee improved to 13-0 on the road this season and 24-2-1-2 on the season.
Meanwhile, the red-hot Picton Pirates made it 10 straight wins Saturday night with an 8-2 victory over the Georgina Ice.
Khaden Henry, Nick Kyte, Brian Bygrave and Landon McLellan powered the Pirate attack with three points each. Kyle Renaud turned aside 32s shots for the victory.
Picton is now just one point back of Gananoque for third in the division and two points back of Amherstview for second.
Napanee holds down top spot with a comfortable 13 point Tod Division lead.
