Centre Hastings Mayor Tom Deline is hoping growth and development continue to be the way the municipality trends in 2020.
Following a year that saw $8.26 million in permit fees in only ten months, Deline hopes the municipality will see continued growth.
Deline says he hopes council can also develop a three year plan for road repavement in their urban centre in 2020.
He says they haven’t done much there in a few years and a plan would help residents see what roads can be done without killing them tax-wise.
Currently there are eight kilometres of road repair work on the books for 2020, and the municipality is
applying for funding for the St. Lawrence Street East project as well.
Deline says while he is very excited for the potential, it is the unknowns such as downloading which could mean bad news.
He says depending on what the provincial government does or does not cut, it could mean the municipality could do more than the planned 8 kms of roadwork and $350,000 in pavement in the urban centre.
