There was a hit and run vehicle collision in Belleville Friday (yesterday) afternoon.
An 8-year-old child was taken to Belleville General Hospital and treated for a minor injury.
The two-car collision happened in the Sidney Street and Maple Drive area.
The crash happened just after the noon hour. An investigation revealed the vehicles were heading south on Sidney Street when one vehicle stopped to turn left onto Maple Drive and was hit from behind by the second car.
The man driving the second car left the area without assisting or exchanging information.
His vehicle is described as a red Nissan SUV with Quebec licence plates. The driver is said to be a white man in his 60s.
