The holidays are over and it’s back to work for local junior hockey teams.
The Christmas break did nothing to slow down the Picton Pirates. They extended their winning streak to nine games with a 7-3 win over the visiting Campbellford Rebels.
Nolan Dawson and Dawson Lindsay scored a goal and assist while Cooper Rogers had a 3 assist night.
With the win the Pirates leapfrog into third place in the Provincial Junior Hockey League’s East Tod Division.
Tonight the Rebels are home to Gananoque.
Holidays over for G-Hawks and Dukes
The Trenton Golden Hawks and Wellington Dukes end their two week break tonight (Fri).
The G-Hawks host the Toronto Jr. Canadiens while the Dukes are home to the Whitby Fury. Both game are at 7:30.
It’s a particularly busy weekend for Trenton. The Golden Hawks play the Cougars in Cobourg tomorrow (Sat) then return home to face the Pickering Panthers on Sunday.
Trenton leads the OJHL’s East Division with 58 points. Wellington has 56 points with one game in hand.
